Injuries and suspensions
Brazilian goalkeeper Julio Cesar is suffering with back problems and is questionable for this game.
Player to watch for Brazil
Luis Fabiano — The golden boot winner from the 2009 Confederations Cup will be Brazil's main striker during the tournament, thanks to his determination and quickness in front of goal. The 29-year-old scored 21 goals for Sevilla in all competitions last season.
Player to watch for North Korea
Jong Tae-Se — Dubbed the "Asian Wayne Rooney" thanks to his strength and goal-scoring ability, Jong is North Korea's best player, one of the few to ply his trade outside the country. But he will be up against the toughest defenders he's ever faced in Group G.
Key match up
Luis Fabiano vs. Ri Myong-Guk — When Brazil and Fabiano inevitably break through North Korea's staunch wall of defence, goalkeeper Ri Myong-Guk, who had 10 shutouts in qualifying, will have to come up big if his team is to have any chance to pull off a massive shocker.
Brazilian perspective
"This is a dream. When I got called up for the World Cup, my wife just said, 'You deserve what is happening to you; it's what you fought for'." — forward Grafite.
North Korean perspective
"We don't want to leave the tournament just with experience; we want to obtain all we can get in terms of goals and points when we go home." — striker Jong Tae-Se
World Cup head-to-head
The will be the first time the two countries' men's teams will face each other.

BRAZIL
Brazil full-back Maicon wants to end a season of stunning success at club level by helping his country secure a sixth FIFA World Cup™ crown.
The 28-year-old was a key part of the Inter Milan side which won the UEFA Champions League, Serie A and Coppa Italia titles this season and from a personal perspective, winning the FIFA World Cup would be a crowning moment.
"The main objective of my career is to win a World Cup," he said. "And now I'm taking this opportunity. But of course it will not be achieved alone. Our main strength is unity. When we're together we're strong."
NORTH KOREA
Midfielder An Yong-Hak believes Korea DPR are mentally tougher than five-time FIFA World Cup™ winners Brazil and hopes it is a factor which could prove decisive in Tuesday's Group G match. The Koreans, who are 105th in the FIFA World Rankings, begin only their second FIFA World Cup finals campaign against Brazil in Johannesburg.
"The mentality for victory, strong organisational power and unity in fighting - these attributes are further ahead in us than the Brazil team, I think," said An, who plays for Japanese club Omiya Ardija.
A tight defence was key to Korea DPR securing a place in South Africa, with their only other World Cup finals appearance coming in England in 1966.
